Remembering Winnie The Pooh
Funny story, Winnie-the-Pooh was created and based on a real bear that resided in the London Zoo, and this real bear was actually black and named Winnipeg. Did you know that the World Record of black bears is an 880 lb. bear from Eastern North Carolina? Yes, this was recorded in 1998, and more than ten bears have been recorded to weigh more than 700lbs and dozens more over 600lbs all hailing from the coastal region of North Carolina. You may not remember, but since 1926, Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends: Piglet, Owl, Tigger, and Eeyore have been a favorite storybook and movie to enjoy the creations of A.A. Milne.
