Firecracker Injuries To The Face
Please be careful when firing off on July 4th. I found it alarming how many calls the fire department gets on July 4th, the hospital reports and 16% of fireworks injuries are to the head, face, and ears, and that’s enough to understand that we have a problem. So besides the good food and fun, what are some ways to express yourself on July 4th without firecrackers?
Go camping in the backyard or head out of town and find safe places to pop a tent. Have an assembly line set up in the backyard filled with crafts to complete for the kids or your adult guests. Caravan to different friends and family homes and assign who serves appetizers, entrée and dessert, that way you can social distance and have an adventure from home to home. How about telling your neighbors that you’re having a jam session in your backyard and or a talent show and inviting them over for a bit. Oh, and make sure to have lots of cold water on hand because it’s still going hot and in some places, kind of muggy.
