Weigh In On Environmental Policies
If environmental issues are important to you in Mecklenburg County this is your chance to weigh in on the Environmental Leadership Policy Public Comment Survey for the next 30-days. All of the information gathered from you in this survey helps to refine the proposed policy update and assist the Board of County Commissioners in setting priorities to address climate change. The majority believe that Environmental conditions affect our community, affecting the health of residents. If you’re wondering what the Board’s major responsibilities are, they include adopting the annual County budget, setting the County property tax rate, and assessing and establishing priorities on the many community needs, especially those related to health, education, welfare, mental health, and the environment.
Your comment period begins today, Wednesday, December 9, 2020, and will be available through Friday, January 8, 2021. The questionnaire may be found on MeckNC.gov and or by clicking here. Environmental Leadership Public Comment Survey available is online via computer or mobile device at MeckNC.gov
The comments made on the survey will be shared with the Board of County Commissioners in advance of their annual retreat in January. There are two formats for the public to submit comments:
- Full Questionnaire – This option is available for residents seeking to provide more in-depth reflections on specific policy language and provide ideas on implementing initiatives. Total time to complete should be between 10 – 20 minutes.
- General Comments – This option is available for residents seeking to provide quick and overarching reflections. Total time to complete should be between 5 – 10 minutes.
