Remember F.A.C.E.T. Inc. on Giving Tuesday
Share Charlotte is a great place to find great nonprofits like, Faith in Action Community and Educational Transition Services, Inc. FACET has been giving back to women in transition for 13 years, and now they’re asking for your support in donating transition kits to families in need, and this year there’s 2 types of transition kits. Your donations received will provide ‘Rest Well’ and ‘Clean House’ transition kits for women who are housed at the Salvation Army Center of Hope. Since everyone deserves a clean house, the first kit is related to household products as women and children move into permanent housing. The CLEAN HOUSE kits are comprised of essential things we all take for granted like, laundry detergent, mops, brooms disinfectant, laundry baskets, and more. The second transition kit is themed appropriately as the REST WELL bundle. This kit encompasses bed and bath products. You can go directly to FACET’s Amazon wish list, here. Or visit Share Charlotte to see FACET’s page of giving.
FACET’s mission is to provide specialized resources to assist homeless women, and those at risk of becoming homeless in the Charlotte community. FACET is a small team of community stakeholders that are aligned to serve, and have touched the lives of over one hundred homeless families in transition with essential things while in moving from homelessness to independence.
FACET’s programs educate, empower, and equip homeless women to prepare them for a successful transition and to become productive citizens.
Why do women find themselves caught between homelessness and independence? Every situation is unique and complicated, but sometimes it’s the economic impact of keeping up with the high cost of rent or job loss or possibly a victim of domestic violence. The woman we’re referring to could be a veteran who served our country, a single mom, a grandmother or even a coworker.
