Kiss 95.1 Listener Kara, What She is Thankful For
One of our Kiss 95.1 listeners, Kara Jimenez submitted what she was thankful for on our website and was chosen as one of the many stories we will share this holiday season.
Kara shared the photo above along with what she is thankful for. Forever thankful for my son, Elias. I’ve been a single mom since he was 3.5 months old. (His father was sentenced to 5-7 years in prison) We’ve been through so much since then. He’s now 19 months old and the reason I wake up every morning! We had to start over with absolutely nothing, were homeless for almost 6 months, and were in the front row of the struggle bus.
Because of my son, I’ve worked harder than I ever have in my life. We have a (basically) great life now; got our own apartment 9 months ago, got a new (used of course) car, and I’m not stressing about how I’m gonna pay the bills every month. I will forever be thankful/grateful for/to my son for showing me that I can do what I set my mind to, what unconditional love is and that as long as we have each other we don’t need anyone else!
