The two final weeks of Nexus Church Charlotte’s Pop-Up Community Grocery is happening August 2 and August 9 consisting of free boxes of produce, dairy, and poultry, only available while supplies last. The church is doing it because of the overwhelming response to recent food giveaways.

Since COVID-19 I wondered if food banks are fulfilling the need of hungry people since we still have hungry people. Food banks in the United States are becoming more diverse since the pandemic opening up small operations serving people spread out across large rural areas to very large communities. These days we’re seeing more meat packing facilities shut down, but that’s a story for another blog.
