Murph Challenge Beginner Friendly Workout
The Murph Challenge is a Cross Fit workout consisting of a mile-long run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats and a final mile run — all while wearing a 20-pound vest or body armor. So who in the world would create such a drastic workout? This challenge’s namesake is Lt. Michael Murphy, and Desi Ventures is breaking down the workout to fit into a beginner’s lifestyle.
Desi Ventures on YouTube takes you on these amazing travels into the mountains of North Carolina to jump roping to full body workout. Since COVID-19 many of us have fallen off the exercise wagon because it’s too darn hard to stay steadfast, but Desi tries and most of the time encourages us to forge on.
A common way to perform the workout is to do 20 sets of 5 pull ups, 10 push ups, and 15 squats. If you did a round of that every two minutes, you’d actually wind up with a sixty-minute Murph.
Let’s run through it again for those who don’t know about the Murph Challenge:
