April Showers Bring May Flowers
With the weather turning to rain again, it got an old saying stuck in my head about, “April showers bring May flowers.” But what about April’s flowers? I recently went out and grabbed some flowers from a planter outside of my door just to brighten up my view. And these “showers” have done wonders for these flowers!
Some tips on how to handle the rain with potted plants: Are mindful of how much water they are getting. Move them under cover if they’re fully saturated, as you don’t want them to drown. (Yes, that is possible.)
For those flowers and plants that are always kept away from the sun, be sure to put them out where the rain can get to them and deliver some water while the clouds have you covered from the sun’s harsh rays.
If you have indoor plants, take them outside to get some love, too! It not only saves you the time of watering them, but it gives them the time to be under natural light instead of LEDs or fluorescents. Keeping all of this in mind will help you to stay grounded by giving your mind something to focus on that is out of the norm. Which, in turn, keeps you from sleeping the day away which we ALL know is an easy feat with dreary weather.
