Who Likes Beer?
Who knew that the biggest rivalry in college football could lead to an amazing story? Iowa has a new legend, a young 23-year-old Carson King is someone who we should notice. During the Iowa vs Iowa State football game, Carson held up a sign with his Venmo stating he needed money for Busch light, and it was caught on live TV. This resulted in someone being funny, they sent money. And then another sent money. And then another. Eventually, it got into hundreds of thousands of dollars. Crazy, right? Carson King decided he was going to donate the money to the children at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital due to the famous wave the Hawkeyes conduct do at the end of the first quarter of every home game. Busch Light and Venmo caught onto the story and decided they were going to match every penny earned. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Busch Light stepped away from it but that only brought the community and world around us to donate more, and more, and more. Raising almost three million dollars for those children. Carson King closed down the Venmo account to donate the money last week holding up a sign to donate money for beer, to three million dollars for the children. This is a feel-good story that brings out the good in world. Thanks Carson King!!!!
