Moving Part Three
The move is finally complete, your stuff is in your new place and its time to unpack. This can seem like a daunting task, and it is, but it doesn’t have to be. Try to come up with a plan for every room. I like to set up the kitchen and the bathroom first, this way if the unexpected happens and unpacking takes longer than anticipated, you can still get a nice meal and a hot shower before starting again the next day.
I have found setting up the kitchen is much easier when you have a good plan in place. stand in your empty kitchen and walk through preparing a meal. This will help visualize where to put all of your items for ease of use and access. I like to start at the stove and work my way out from there. Make sure the kitchen utensils and oven mitts are in easy reach. I have found if you use sticky notes to label where things go, it can make unpacking go much smoother, especially since anyone helping can see where items go without having to stop and ask questions.
