Billie Eilish Covers Rolling Stone Magazine
Pop-star Billie Eilish adds being on the cover of Rolling Stone to the long list of accomplishments in her budding career.
Eilish’s debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? is a smash and has been streamed over 2 billion times, she was just nominated for nine VMA awards, she’s is playing sold-out shows, and some say she might take Taylor Swift’s crown as the youngest artist to win Album of the Year at next year’s Grammys.
But as her Rolling Stone interview suggests, she’s still just a 17-year-old-kid. She gets reminded by her mom to clean her room, she thinks being 27 is “old,” she spends too much time on the internet, and she is afraid of the dark and of scary things under her bed.
The article goes into detail about Eilish’s unexpected rise to fame, and also about being a celebrity. “I’ve loved attention my whole life, but I don’t think anyone knows what fame actually is.” She adds, “Because if I did want to be famous – it wasn’t this kind.”
She also talks about how tough it is being away from her friends and missing out on the normal stuff. As explained in the article, “Truth be told, Eilish isn’t looking forward to this tour. She hates being away from her friends for so long – she knows when they get back, they’ll all dress differently and have new inside jokes.”
She says, “It’s annoying. I have this amazing thing in front of me, and I don’t want to want to hate it. And I don’t hate it. But I hate certain parts of it.”
The article also goes into detail about Eilish having Tourette Syndrome, her experience dealing with synesthesia, and her issues with body dysmorphia and depression.
Billie says, “Sometimes I see girls at my show with scars on their arms, and it breaks my heart. I don’t have scars anymore because it was so long ago. But I’ve said to a couple of them, ‘Just be nice to yourself.’ Because I know. I was there.”
