Drivers In York County On High Alert After Random Shootings
Law enforcement responded to two separate shootings on York County roads on Friday evening.
Based on the nature of the shootings and the description of the suspects, authorities believe the shootings are connected.
According to WCNC, the shootings happened on Saluda Road and Adnah Church Road.
The distance between those two locations is about a twenty-minute drive.
The calls for help came in between 10 p.m. and midnight on Friday evening after two drivers reported being shot at by three males who were stopped in a vehicle in the middle or side of the roadway.
While one of the drivers escaped unscathed, their vehicle was struck by two bullets. The other driver was grazed by a bullet and was treated for minor injuries.
At this time, authorities have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting incidents.
WCNC spoke with a York County resident regarding the shootings. Tori Land voiced her concerns over the random nature of the incidents and said she would be more attentive on local roadways — Especially when driving alone.
The suspects were driving a four-door sedan that is either white or silver and were wearing hooded sweatshirts.
Police in York County have advised drivers to phone police immediately if they are approached by individuals who match this description.
