National recording artist Gayle who’s opening for AJR on their tour had lunch with a listener and I! This is the reason why I love the radio. Experiences like these. Kristina and her son Justice won tickets to see AJR. They then were the grand prize winners for lunch with Gayle.

Picture this.. Myself, Gayle Kristina, and her son sitting down and just talking. We talked about everything from basketball (Gayle and Justice both play) to how Gayle’s tour bus broke down the night before! The great thing about the chat, no one was in a rush. It was so cool to hear Kristina and Gayle have a conversation about life. It’s nice that a 17-year-old recording artist can just talk. No filter, no bs, no publicist.
Gayle told us her story. She moved from Dallas to Nashville and started singing in bars. She would ask the band if she could perform while they took a break. It worked. Now Gayle is on a US tour with AJR! Singing her hit song “abcdefu.” She said the song is about “ex’s, past friends and life in general.” She went on to tell us the song sounds negative but is also about “good things in life.” Shout out to Que Onda Tacos for a great lunch and a great vibe!
