Fireworks In Charlotte And Where To See Them This Year

It wouldn't be a July 4th celebration without a great fireworks show. So, let's take a look at fireworks in Charlotte and where to see them this year. Of course there's so many options if you just take a dive and search them out. But, maybe these suggestions can narrow down the field of some of the the best fireworks in Charlotte. Charlotte Magazine put together a list of a handful of events taking place in and around the Queen City. And, we'll mention some of those as well. Plus, throw in some you might not have thought about. Fireworks In Charlotte, Carowinds, Baseball And Racing Obviously, one of the first places that comes to mind is the big fireworks show at Carowinds each year. Families can catch fireworks displays on two nights at Carowinds. They start the shows at 9:30 each night on July 3 and 4. Charlotte Magazine recommends the Carolina Boardwalk, County Fair and Celebration Plaza as some of the best viewing areas. Carowinds website points out that the all ages displays will be synchronized to patriotic music for something extra special. And, for traffic flow tips, they recommend exit Carowinds and follow Pleasant Road to Gold Hill Road to I-77. Or, turn onto Carowinds Boulevard when leaving the park and take Westinghouse Boulevard to I-77. And, SC troopers will be on hand to direct traffic. Next, we turn to America's favorite, baseball. And, the Charlotte Knights are hosting three nights of fireworks. First, the SkyShow Fireworks Spectacular on July 4th following the game against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. Friday, July 5th, the Knights light up the sky with Uptown Boom Fireworks following the game. And, again on Saturday, July 6th, for Military Appreciation Night the Knights follow the game with another spectacular display. Plus, not to be overlooked, The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers have their own 4th of July celebration. The game starts at 6:30 with fireworks to follow. Tickets start at $20. And, they also host fireworks after games on the 5th and 6th. Next, let's head to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the 'Summer Shootout.' Tuesday, July 2, the celebration is from 5 to 9 p.m. It's $10, free for kids 12 and under. A fireworks show follows the races. And, first responders and military get in free with ID. How To Celebrate Without Fireworks So, what if you're looking for a way to celebrate without fireworks? How about a visit to The Whitewater Center? The venue will host celebrations on Wednesday, July 3, and Thursday, July 4. Admittance is free to the celebration but parking is $12. There will be live music both nights. No fireworks are planned.
