Blake Lively has been praised for her recent Instagram post where she was breast pumping in public. The 36-year-old Gossip Girl alum posted the candid snaps from her postpartum trip to Disneyland Paris, which she described as one of her highlights of last year. In the second photo, Lively can be seen making a hilarious face while posing with rats Remy and Emile from Disney’s 2007 film Ratatouille. She wore an oversized Disney long-sleeve shirt, Mickey Mouse ears with a Fantasia wizard top, and some casually distressed jeans with a breast pump attached to her hip. “2023 Highlights: pumping at @disneylandparis Cheers Remy,” she wrote as the post caption. With nearly two million likes on the carousel of photos, fans and moms flooded the comments section with support of the actress for normalizing pumping in public.
Pump It Up!
One person wrote the actress a heartfelt message: “Thank you for pumping in public and helping to make a positive change for the next generation of pumping moms out there! I’m hoping that by the time my daughters become moms they’ll live in a society where moms feel comfortable and empowered to take care of their babies wherever they are. The more people see women breastfeeding in public, the more normal it becomes, so thank you for being a part of that.” Another commented, “Love seeing pumping normalized! get it mama! Happy new year!” Commented a third, “Love normalizing pumping in public.” Another commented: “Mom goals.” Someone else replied, “This is the best. We mamas pump anywhere!”
Lively confirmed the birth of her fourth child with husband and fellow actor Ryan Reynolds in February last year. The couple also shares three daughters together: James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4. The parents have kept their children out of the spotlight and won’t allow them to enter the acting industry until they’ve grown up.
Celebrities Who Welcomed Babies In 2023
In 2023, lots of celebrity couples welcomed babies. Some celebrated the birth of their very first child, while others, added a new bundle of joy to their growing family. In some cases, celebrities who couldn’t have a natural birth have welcomed children via surrogate. No matter how their children were brought into the world, a baby is a blessing. These stars have opened up about their pregnancy journey and celebrated with fans as they welcomed their newborns. There must be something in the celebrity gene pool that makes their babies not look like aliens fresh out of the womb because their newborns are so adorable.
Approximately 134.28 million births will occur across the globe in 2023, according to the United Nation’s medium variant of the population projections. Based on that projection, there should be an average of about 368,000 births per day in 2023. However, birth rates have declined in most states across the US in recent years, as women are having babies at an older age, according to data released by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Birth rates among women in their late 30s and early 40s rose in the last decade, and the birth rate among women over 45 also exceeded one birth per 1,000 population for the first time in more than a decade. Meanwhile, the teen birth rate dropped to a record low last year, according to the data.
As for Hollywood couples, there seems to be no shortage of babies being born in 2023. The list keeps growing and so do their families. Since the year isn’t over yet, take a look below to see which celebrities welcomed babies in 2023.
