The Panthers training facility in Rock Hill is officially dead. So, I thought we could use the giant building on 240 acres for something good.
In case you missed it, David Tepper, the Panthers owner, went into agreement with the city of Rock Hill a few years ago. The team would build a new enormous state-of-the-art facility, in the SC city. The site would feature; a practice field, new Panther offices, retail stores and restaurants. Construction started and eventually, a huge steel building popped up.
At the end of March David Tepper put a halt on construction. He claimed that Rock Hill defaulted on payments. Rock Hill denied it and construction has been shut down since. Rock Hill government hoped the project would be restarted. That never happened.
Tepper’s real estate company filed for chapter 11 on Wednesday night putting an official end to the project.
So. We have a huge building sitting empty on 240 acres, what can we make it? I have some ideas!
