Local USPS Contractor Launches Propane Autogas Fleet
A local USPS Contractor is taking steps to launch its clean initiative. McAbee Trucking, a USPS contractor, is celebrating a new “propane autogas refueling station”. This makes them the first United States Postal Service Contractor to operate a propane autogas fleet. McAbee Trucking will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 5th at 10 am for the station. In addition to the ribbon-cutting, the owner of McAbee Trucking will make a special announcement regarding the future of the fleet.
So what does this all mean? McAbee Trucking is the first United States Postal Service contractor to operate a fleet with propane autogas, a clean, low-carbon alternative energy source. From Charlotte, NC, to Greenville, SC, McAbee Trucking’s propane vehicles are providing communities with cleaner air to breathe by significantly reducing its emissions. In fact, in South Carolina, McAbee’s propane vehicles produce about the same amount of low carbon emissions as comparable electric vehicles charged using the electric grid. However, they’re able to do it at a fraction of the cost. It’s wonderful to know that we have a local company that is taking this initiative. Hopefully, contractors in other areas will follow suit.
McAbee Trucking is located at 301 North Mountain Street in Blacksburg, SC.
