Biltmore Estate to Reopen for the Holidays Following Impact of Hurricane Helene
The Biltmore Estate is looking forward to new beginnings following the effects of Hurricane Helene. Those new beginnings are set to begin ahead of the holiday season. A news report with WSPA 7News states that the 40th Anniversary of the Christmas Candlelight Tours will begin Saturday, Nov. 2.
Ahead of the event and the start of the holiday season, Biltmore Estate will add a 35-foot Frasier Fir in the Banquet Hall. According to the Biltmore Estate website, “Thanks to the incredible work of so many generous people, recovery is happening all around us. Our teams are working hard to reopen and welcome you back for Christmas at Biltmore.”
Biltmore Estate Gearing Up for Holiday Season
Once the 35-foot tree is added to the Banquet Hall, Biltmore’s floral design team will then work to decorate the tree with ornaments and lights for the holiday season. Although the estate plans to reopen this weekend for the holiday season, conditions still vary across the estate due to damages caused by Hurricane Helene.
Officials stated the Biltmore House, the conservatory, the winery, gardens, hotels, and the Chihuly exhibition received minimal damage after the storm impacted most of the Asheville area. There is still some flood damage to the estate that will continue to be worked on and repaired as they begin the process of reopening.
Ahead of the holiday season, the Biltmore Estate will offer a wide range of opportunities for tourists and locals to enjoy the holiday season on its property. Head to their website for the official list of all holiday events that are in store this season.
