Here’s an easier way to string Christmas tree lights. All you have to do is loop the lights vertically. Growing up I loved helping my Mom or Dad string lights on the Christmas tree. We usually had a tree that was about 8 feet tall and for a few years, we had a small real tree in one part of the house and a fake tree in the living room. We would then string multi-colored lights on the real tree and white lights on the fake tree. I always had to follow either of my parents with the lights as they walked around the Christmas tree using the wrapping method. For so many years that’s the only way I knew how to string lights on a Christmas tree. Years later my wife would blow my mind.

My wife and I spent our first Christmas together in our Knoxville apartment in 2014. We were very excited that Christmas because it was our first one living together and we would introduce each other’s traditions to the other. Luckily, we like and were raised on very similar traditions and styles of decorating when it came to Christmas. Then it was time to string lights on the Christmas tree and she called me out for decorating it in the most annoying way possible. She immediately asked why would I walk around the tree to decorate it with the lights. She then showed me that you can layer them horizontally from top to bottom going left to right. Turns out, it was a lot easier and a lot quicker. I just came across an even easier method.

A lot of people like to wait until the beginning of December to decorate for Christmas and that includes putting up the tree. Decorating takes a while and I know I want to enjoy the holiday season as much as possible. Expedite the light stringing on your tree with the method below.
