These Are The Spookiest Haunted Roads In South Carolina
Halloween is fast approaching. And the days are getting shorter. While in the summer you may have rarely found yourself driving around in the dark, now it’s becoming your life again. And there is something a little spooky especially on an October moonlit night about driving around in the dark when there isn’t anyone else around. Perhaps a feeling of what’s behind that tree or is someone or something watching? That’s not just me right? I haven’t watched THAT many scary movies. While sure many of times your brain is playing tricks on you. There can sometimes (if you believe in the sort of thing) be a supernatural beyond the grave type explanation. That’s why our friends at Lance Surety Bonds and GhostsofAmerica decided to conduct a little research on the spookiest, most haunted roads including those in South Carolina.
When it comes to haunted roads South Carolina has a lot. Don’t worry though, North Carolina also has some haunted roads of its own as well. But for this study, the team at Lance Surety Bonds delved through all the reports at GhostsofAmerica.com related to hauntings experienced while driving to find the cities and states with the most paranormal activity. And it’s the community of Jacksonboro, SC that ranked the highest out of the Carolinas. You’ll find Jacksonboro on Highway 17 outside of Charleston. Not only was Jacksonboro 11th for the most haunted roads the South Carolina city actually ranked 5th for the number of reported ghost sightings.
What’s going on down there in the Palmetto state? For sure a small town, ranking this high is certainly eyebrow-raising. Here are some other interesting facts about haunted roads in North and South Carolina shared with us by Lance Surety Bonds:
- Jacksonboro, SC, is among the top 20 cities with the most ghost sightings, ranking #5; meanwhile, Conway, SC, ranks #8.
- Jacksonboro, SC, ranks #11 for cities and states with the spookiest roads.
- Nearly 6 in 10 car owners have experienced paranormal activity while driving, with one-third being non-believers before the experience.
- After having a paranormal experience, 47% say they found similar stories occurring in the same area.
Have you ever had a spooky experience in your car? I’m one to pretty much aim to be back home from a long trip by nightfall if at all possible. This is just further confirmation that that may be a good move! You can read more on this study and America’s Haunted Roads here.
