Martha Stewart Is On A ‘Rampage’ For People To Work In Person
Martha Stewart hates that people are still working from home. The 81-year-old television personality is apparently on a “rampage” to eliminate the hybrid work model. In a new interview with Footwear News Monday (June 5), Stewart thinks the future of America is in danger due to this new normal post-pandemic.
During COVID, Stewart told the publication that she doubled down on developing her business, filming a series of TV shows in her New York home. “I continued to work five days a week,” she said. Of the three days at the office and two days remote model that companies implement, Stewart says, “You can’t possibly get everything done” that way. She compares this productivity level to that of France specifically because of their “stupid… you know, off for August, blah blah blah. That’s not a very thriving country.” Stewart then posed the question: “Should America go down the drain because people don’t want to go back to work?”

Stewart isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Just last month, she was featured as one of the cover models for 2023’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover for 2023. As we previously reported, Stewart said she was motivated to participate in the annual issue to show that women can look good and feel great at any age. “Age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success, but what people do, how people think, how people act, that’s what’s important and not your age,” she said.
The cookbook author admits being slightly apprehensive initially but agreed to the cover issue because she approaches her late-in-life ventures as opportunities to be a testament to “good living.” Stewart told Today, “I think that all of us should think about good living, successfully living, and not about aging. The whole aging thing is so boring. You know what I mean?”

Last month, she told People how “there’s no relaxing really going on” in her life. “That’s not what my life is about,” she said of taking time off. “My life is about doing things and learning things and teaching things.” She added, “There’s no reason to retire. I can write sitting down, I can dictate lying down if I have to. I can do any number of things in different places in different ways.”
Her project for the immediate future is the release of her 100th book, which will include 100 of her favorite dishes and the “evolution of recipes” in her life. “We have beautiful photographs, historic photographs from over the years of the dishes and how they’ve changed,” she said. “It just shows how, over the years, things have changed in presentation, dishes, and glassware even. It’s sort of curious!”
