What’s Next For Proposal To Bring Disney World to North Carolina?
Walt, It’s a small world after all! A North Carolina Senator is looking to bring the Walt Disney Theme Park to the Tar Heel state. So what’s next for the proposal laid out?
It’s all in a bill called the “Mickey’s Freedom Restoration Act.” It’s being proposed by Senator Michael K. Garrett,
If the bill passes, the state will then appoint a committee focused on bringing The Walt Disney Company and its Florida theme parks to our state! This is all because of a political squabble between the Florida Governor and the Walt Disney Company. But one state’s squabble can be our state’s gain according to WCNC.
“North Carolina is a great place to do business,” said Senator Garrett at the bill filing. I welcome The Walt Disney Company and all other businesses seeking refuge from the culture war madness currently gripping the great state of Florida,” Garrett concluded.
Disney CEO Bob Iger and the Florida governor have been at odds since the “Parental Rights in Education” law which is also known as the “Don’t Say Gay” law. Disney is one of the state’s biggest employers. Not to mention donates a lot of money to politics.
The bill’s political sponsors believe North Carolina offers a lot. Great location and airports, plus the weather is great year-round. Can you imagine? Driving down 77 and seeing Cinderella’s castle peaking out of the sky? I’m going to Walt Disney in May. I hope this gets done quickly! It will save me on airfare hahaha!
