LauRen Rode The Elevator With Someone Who Just Got Fired
Talk about an awkward situation! I was minding my own business on Tuesday afternoon, running some errands when I exchanged pleasantries with someone in an elevator. When I asked, ” How you doing?” I was unprepared for the reply, “Awful, I just got fired, and this is my last paycheck.”
I proceeded to stand there awkwardly as they word vomited all of the things wrong with the business I was about to enter. As we both stepped off the elevator, I watched as the woman walked back up to the counter and asked shyly for the backpack she had forgotten when she hurried out the first time in a huff.
I felt so bad for this girl, and all I could think about all day was how embarrassing it had to be to go back into a business after being fired and leaving in a tizzy the first time.
