Remember back in school when we sat for hours on plastic chairs, belchers, and gym floors, well now we’ve become chair-savvy adults. When ergonomic chairs came on the scene with a gangster lean they promised us a lot. Such as better back support that could improve back pain. Since computers aren’t going away I guess better chair support to stare at monitors is the goal. I’m glad these ergonomic chairs are promising to support our backs because my sitting posture sucks after an hour. I even read that these chairs could possibly reduce abnormal strain on the body and prevents harmful positions such as slouching and forward head. Hey, ergonomic chair folks, I need a chair endorsement if you’re interested.
We’ve been fed the idea that the wrong office chair can cause major health issues. Think of professions that have to stand all day like cashiers in retail, What does bad posture say about a person? Slouching indicates a lack of interest in the other person and their words, or that you don’t care how they think about you. Poor posture can also indicate a lack of self-esteem. I think we can all agree that poor posture does indicate stressors in our life. When my daughter buys her ergonomic chair, I’ll let you know what brand she purchased.
