A tech guru has shared a little-known iPhone feature that can help calm down the stress or help those suffering from tinnitus.

If you ever struggle to fall asleep at night, you might have turned to YouTube for a ten-hour video of rain hitting a window, or water in a stream. People use videos or spend money on apps to reduce stress or block out the ringing of their own ears, known as tinnitus. But it turns out that Apple included the sounds into their software, and iPhone users can turn on the feature for free whenever they like.

According to the Mirror, to turn on the feature, you have to open the Settings app, then go to Accessibility, scroll down to Audio/Visual, then tap ‘background sounds’. There, you’ll be able to turn on the feature and select which type of sound you would like, with options including ocean, rain, and stream.
