Jennifer Garner’s Family Update Has Celebrity Friends Emotional
Kids are going back to school, and Jennifer Garner is among the many parents dropping hers back off for in-person learning.
Yesterday (September 9), the 13 Going On 30 actress shared a personal message on Instagram about her family returning to a sense of normalcy amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. At the start of the pandemic, schools were forced to shut down in and transition to remote learning. Now, many students are back in classrooms, including Jennifer’s three children that she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck: Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12 and Samuel, 9.
“The school year starts in dribs and drabs, but today’s the real deal for my family — we are back,” she captioned a smiling, wind-blown selfie of herself next to the water. “3/3 masked, 2/3 vaxxed (soon, please, 11 and under), every one eager, tentative, bold, vulnerable and — as far as I can tell — smiling under the 3-ply.”
Jennifer, 49, continued: “Thank you teachers, thank you administrators, thank you school staff — for being on the receiving end of a year and a half of feelings (kids’ and parents’) — big and loud, quiet and deep. Thank you science for getting us this far and this much closer to health and freedom. Thank you for moms in your corner and gallows humor and the sun that rises, no matter what. And please, God, hold us in the palm of your hands.”
The Golden Globe-winning actress’ celebrity friends reached out to her in the comments section. “Love you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️” Food Network chef Ina Garten wrote.
“❤️,” The Office star Angela Kinsey added. “How lovely,” singer Rita Wilson said.
“Maybe my favorite photo of you ever ❤️❤️❤️,” 13 Going On 30 costar Judy Greer commented.
“This is every parent what a beautiful beautiful post. 👏🙌❤️,” actress Juliette Lewis wrote.
“Very well said!!” Camila McConaughey added.
Speaking with People magazine back in March, Jennifer got candid about trying to keep herself in good spirits for her family while they quarantined together in their L.A. home. “I don’t know that I’ve stayed positive the whole time,” she told the magazine. “I think I’ve had a couple of temper tantrums. And I hope [my kids] have too. I think you have to. It’s like, have your feelings. But there’s so much to be grateful for.”
