Montero Lamar Hill (Lil Nas X’s real name) does, in fact, have a history with Taco Bell. Per Billboard, the artist worked at an Atlanta-area Taco Bell just four years ago. Fast-forward to now, and he’s riding the success of two global No. 1 hits with “Old Town Road” and “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).”
Lil Nas X will team with the Taco Bell Foundation to recognize and reward young creative individuals via the Live Más Scholarship. He’ll also appear in Taco Bell’s breakfast campaign with further “fan engagement opportunities” to be announced later this fall.
Mark King, CEO of Taco Bell noted Lil Nas X’s previous experience in a statement, “Lil Nas X knows the job, the experience and the culture Taco Bell creates for its fans – including its people. This unique partnership will deliver on more than just marketing, allowing us to tap into the genius of Lil Nas X to inspire our team members and align with our commitment to unlocking opportunities for young people.”
Saweetie partnered up with McDonald’s earlier this month with “The Saweetie Meal,” which featueres a Big Mac, a 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, a medium fry, a medium Sprite, Tangy BBQ Sauce and “Saweetie ‘N Sour” sauce, a personalized rename of the traditional Sweet ‘N Sour sauce.
Saweetie said of her McDonald’s deal, “McDonald’s and I run deep – from growing up back in Hayward, California, all through my college days – so I had to bring my icy gang in on my all-time favorites.”
