You May Be Able To Ship Alcohol With USPS Soon
USPS may be able to ship alcohol soon. Shipping alcohol in the U.S. has not been easy, but things may be changing soon. A new bill introduced on Monday called the “USPS Shipping Equity Act” may make it possible for the postal service to deliver alcohol. Democratic Representative Jackie Speier of California says that the USPS has been at a disadvantage. “In most states, private carriers such as FedEx and UPS are already delivering alcoholic beverages. It makes no sense to create a competitive disadvantage for the USPS by barring them from these kinds of shipments, especially given the Postal Service’s dire financial condition,” Speier said. If the bill passes, it will be working with different local and state guidelines. Do you order alcohol online? Do you think this bill passing would change how you buy alcohol?”In most states, private carriers such as FedEx and UPS are already delivering alcoholic beverages. Do you order alcohol online? It’s easy especially if you like wine from a specific winery that isn’t readily available localy. I know wine, bourbon, and other alcohol subscription services and clubs are also popular. The hard part is making sure it will be delivered when and where someone over 21 can sign for it. It would be nice when giving gifts to be able to ship alcohol with USPS.
