WASHINGTON, DC - AUGUST 07: In this photo illustration, the TikTok app is displayed on an Apple iPhone on August 7, 2020 in Washington, DC. On Thursday evening, President Donald Trump signed an executive order that bans any transactions between the parent company of TikTok, ByteDance, and U.S. citizens due to national security reasons. The president signed a separate executive order banning transactions with China-based tech company Tencent, which owns the app WeChat. Both orders are set to take effect in 45 days. TikTok can be addicting (understatement I know) and I find myself saving countless life hacks and workouts and recipes I want to try. I aim to workout a couple times a day while working from home so when I see a good viral TikTok workout I like to try it out. One TikTok workout I tried is a the 12-3-30 workout and let me tell you I’m a fan.

It’s quick and simple all you need is a treadmill- I use the one at my apartment complex gym. Simply put the treadmill on an incline of 12 and speed of 3 and then walk for 30 minutes. The pace is only a 20 minute mile, so if you hate running as much I do never fear, you probably walk a little faster than this in your neighborhood. The incline is where the difficulty and calorie burning comes in-it’s harder than it looks. My heart rate stays around the upper 90s to 100 and you’ll burn over 320 calories in just 30 minutes so it’s perfect if you’re short on time.

I’ve actually done this several times over the past couple weeks and played around with adding a little more incline, speed, and if I’m really feeling it-time.

This is one thing that went viral for good reason and is something I believe I will be incorporating into my workout routine for a long time.
