McDonald’s New Happy Meals Are Selling Out Fast
When it comes to Happy Meal toys, some are more popular than others and the latest ones are causing a spike in sales of the kiddie meals. In honor of the 25th anniversary of Pokémon, McDonald’s has teamed up with the Pokémon franchise, and thanks to fans and collectors, those Happy Meals are selling out fast.
The Pokémon promo just launched this week and it includes the highly coveted trading cards, but parents and kids are already having a hard time finding them. That’s partly because adult collectors are buying them up by the dozens, probably to resell them online. But Mickey D’s may be partially to blame as well because while some restaurants only give one card pack per Happy Meal, others are reportedly selling the card packs as a side item, making it easier to buy up the collectibles.
So what are these prized cards? Each pack comes with four cards and there are 50 to collect in all. Half of those are “regular” and the other 25 cards are “foil” – which is a more rare and valuable card in the Pokémon world. And whether your kid wants some of the cards or you’re a longtime fan yourself, you may want to start your Happy Meal finding mission soon so they’re not totally sold out.
