Lana del Rey’s newest song “Chemtrails Over The Country Club” was just released on January 11. And, let me tell you, it is such typical Lana with an enchanting track, haunting vocals, and alluring lyrics. It’s the absolute perfect song to listen to when it’s raining and you’re staring outside the window with your headphones being all dramatic… it’s literally so perfect for that! I’d even recommend closing your eyes for a little bit of it too. Ooh, I just got chills…
The video was also released the same day and I’d say it definitely fits the song. It carries over the 40’s aesthetic from her previous album Norman F****** Rockwell! released midway through 2019, with lots of reds, whites, and blues. It is now my absolute dream to own a car like the one in this video one day. It’s freakin’ gorgeous! Also, halfway through the video, there is an interesting dark twist, which seems to leave more questions than answers…
Overall, I’d give “Chemtrails” an 8/10. Personally, I like songs from her last album like “Cinnamon Girl” and “Happiness is a butterfly” better than “Chemtrails” but that doesn’t mean I’m not especially excited for her whole album of the same name to come out! Right now, it’s scheduled to come out March 19th so mark your calendar!
Also, did I mention Lana went BLONDE for this video?! She looks incredible, but then again when does she not? I mean honestly.
Take a look at the video for yourself. And full screen it! You’ll thank me later 😉
