Here’s How Students Can Get Meals When School’s Out
This is such an important message for parents and students who rely on school lunches during these off weeks. Here’s how you can get your daily meals…
Burke County Public Schools has opened seven grab-and-go feeding locations that will be available weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the car rider lines at Table Rock Middle, Liberty Middle, Mountain View Elementary, Valdese Elementary, East Burke Middle, Ray Childers Elementary and George Hildebrand Elementary. They will be available during the same hours on weekends at East Burke Middle, Valdese Elementary, Mountain View Elementary and Table Rock Middle. Buses will also deliver meals to bus stops.
Kannapolis City Schools is delivering free student meals from Monday, March 16 through Monday, March 30. In Cleveland County, schools are providing free meals for students at all school sites except Burns High, Crest High, Kings Mountain High, Shelby Middle, North Shelby, and East Elementary. The meals will be available Mondays through Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Stanly County Schools will provide meals to students for free via regular bus routes for all schools and drive-thru style pickups at designated locations for free.
Kannapolis City Schools established a “grab & go” student meal service that offers students a free breakfast and lunch at one of five distribution sites.
Iredell-Statesville Schools say there will be 12 nutrition hubs to pick up bagged meals beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Meals are available to all children in Iredell County up to the age of 18. Check the school’s website for details.
Gaston County Schools will provide “grab and go” meals for students beginning Tuesday, March 17. This service offers a nutritious meal for children while schools are closed because of concerns related to the coronavirus. Meals will be distributed at the following 11 locations: Bessemer City High School, 119 Yellow Jacket Lane, Bessemer City; Carr Elementary School, 307 South Pine Street, Dallas; Cherryville Elementary School, 700 East Academy Street, Cherryville; Erwin Community Center, 913 North Pryor Street, Gastonia; Grier Middle School, 1622 East Garrison Boulevard, Gastonia; Kiser Elementary School, 311 East College Street, Stanley; North Belmont Elementary School, 210 School Street, Belmont; Robinson Elementary School, 3122 Union Road, Gastonia; Tabernacle Baptist Church, 519 West 19th Avenue, Gastonia; Warlick Academy, 1316 Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia; Woodhill Elementary School, 1027 Woodhill Drive, Gastonia.
