Pop divas Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey have teamed up to create the ultimate girl-power anthem. The trio is behind the new theme song for the upcoming Charlie’s Angels reboot.
A trailer for the film, due out this fall, dropped Thursday and confirmed rumors that the three would be collaborating on a track. The film is directed by Elizabeth Banks, who also appears as one of the stars. The Angels are portrayed by Kristen Stewart, Ella Balinksa and Naomi Scott.
The film also stars Patrick Stewart as Charlie, Noah Cinteneo, Sam Clafin and Djimon Honsou.
“I’m thrilled that three of my favorite artists ended up doing a song for the film,” Banks told People Magazine. “It’s really exciting. I can’t wait for people to see it, actually in full, in the film and to hear it when the single drops.”
Banks said the track was inspired by Destiny’s Child “Independent Women,” which served as the theme song for the 2000 reboot of the show, starring Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore.
Grande, who co-executive produced the soundtrack, shared a clip on her Instagram page Thursday.
“Beyond grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait for everyone to hear the music and see this phenomenal film,” she said.
Cyrus and Del Rey also shared clips.
