Olivia Giannulli ‘Fully Knew’ About Lori Loughlin’s Alleged College Scam, Report Claims
Despite initial reports that daughters Olivia and Isabella had no idea that their parents Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli had allegedly paid $500K to get them into college, a new report says the girls knew much more than they let on.
According to Us Weekly, Olivia Jade “fully knew what her parents did to get her into USC, but didn’t think there was anything wrong with it.”
An inside source tells the magazine that the teen had to know since “she didn’t get into any other California schools.”
Loughlin and Giannulli are facing fraud and money laundering charges for allegedly paying $500K in bribes to a false charity to get their daughters into USC as members of the crew team, even though neither girl ever played the sport.
The couple is facing up to twenty years behind bars for the charges, to which they pleaded not guilty last month.
The latest news means the girls could be forced to testify against their parents, Hollywood Life reports.
“If the government has evidence establishing probable cause that the children committed a crime, bringing charges against the children is entirely within the government’s discretion,” criminal defense laywer Edward Molari told Hollywood Life. “That also means that if the government wants a child to testify against their parent, the government can force them to do so, whether they want to or not.”
The case is still pending in Massachusetts court.
