Wendy Williams Files for Divorce After More Than 20 Years of Marriage
Wendy Williams is ending her marriage of more than twenty years to her manager, Kevin Hunter, according to multiple reports.
The talk show host filed for divorce on Thursday after being married since November of 1997. Williams, 54, and Hunter, 46, share a son together, Kevin Jr., 19.
Williams filmed her talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, without her wedding ring Thursday. Representatives from the show issued a statement to People Magazine Thursday regarding the filing:
“Wendy and her family have been a part of Debmar-Mercury for over 10 years. We respect their privacy regarding personal matters. As always, we remain committed to bringing an entertaining and topical show to our viewers.”
For weeks, the couple has been plagued by rumors of Hunter’s infidelity. Last month, reports surfaced that Williams had suffered a breakdown after Hunter’s alleged mistress gave birth to his baby.
It has been a tough few months for the star, who has been very open recently about her issues with substance abuse, admitting she was living in a sober living facility. She has also suffered from a number of health issues earlier this year, including a shoulder injury that kept her away from her Fox talk show for the first few months of the year.
Earlier this year, she professed her love for her husband to her talk show audience, saying “I’m still very much in love with my husband. Don’t ask me about mine.”
Williams has yet to offer official comment on the matter.
