New Orlean Saint’s Cheerleader Gets Fired For Instagram Photo
A NFL cheerleader just got fired for something she posted on Instagram. LauRen was not only a NFL cheerleader, but also a NBA cheerleader so we decided to talk to her about this and see if we could understand more in-depth.
Bailey Davis was a cheerleader for the NFL team, the New Orleans Saints. She has her own private Instagram account where she posted a photo of herself in a lacy one-piece back in January. She was let go from the team, saying that she broke a rule in her contract that prohibits the cheerleaders from appearing nude, semi-nude, or in lingerie.
When we asked LauRen what she thought about this, she thought there was more to the story. When LauRen took a look at the picture she thought the one-piece was a popular piece of women’s clothing called a bodysuit. She thinks that the team probably wanted to get rid of her for some time now, and this was just the last straw.
Bailey Davis thinks the same. She has now filed a federal complaint against the team, accusing the Saints of discrimination for requiring the cheerleaders to follow such a restrictive set of rules, while the male players do not have to oblige.
