Teens love to pretend like 30 is the end for everyone. Once you hit 30, your life is practically over right? Wrong! But it is a little scary and you definitely aren’t the same person you were when you were turning 20 (hopefully). While you’re wrapping up the end of your 20s, check off this list of things you should start doing before reaching the dirty thirty provided by “Vice.”

I just turned 30 a few months ago, and I was having a really hard time with it during the months leading up to it…but now I am fully embracing it and excited for this decade! Let’s see how many of these things I can check off of this list from Vice.

  • 1. Look after your skin properly

I have my girlfriend to thank for this. I have started doing skincare and developing a routine thanks to her. It really does make a difference! Sometimes it can be time-consuming, but I keep telling myself my older self will thank me!

  • 2. Learn basic cooking skills

    Got this down pat!

  • 3. Go to therapy

Check! It’s hard to find a therapist that is the right match for you, but I promise you it is worth the time it takes to get there. A good relationship with a good therapist is life-changing.

  • Hack your hangovers

As long as I don’t skip a meal, stay hydrated and get some drunk food…there’s my hack!

  • Invest in some sewing materials

    Have not done this yet.

  • Learn how to hand wash your clothes properly

Wait, there are people who don’t know how?

  • Get botox and fillers

I haven’t done this yet but it’s on my list.

  • Make and keep plans with new people

Making friends as an adult is so hard. Especially finding friends outside of your circle or outside of work. I need to do a better job of this!

  • Buy a set of tools

Had them for a while now!

  • Take more photos

Trying to get better at this!

  • Stop being embarrassed about weird sex stuff

Weird how we feel shame about this type of stuff, right?

  • Keep your plants alive

I’m above average at keeping indoor plants alive!

  • Stop ghosting people

This isn’t cool – just have a conversation.

  • Learn how to do your taxes

I don’t know how to do my taxes by myself, nor do I truly understand them…but I want to!

  • Wash the walls

I would probably win some brownie points from my girlfriend if I started doing this

  • Have relationships that are easy

YES! Hard and toxic isn’t going to bring you peace

  • Have relationships that are fun

Life is too short to not have fun

  • Don't be in a relationship at all

This! In your 20s, you need to spend time alone outside of a relationship. This is going to make your adult relationships so much better

  • Stop eating like crap all of the time

You’d be surprised how much what you eat correlates to how you feel

  • Start using the word 'lover' to describe your romantic entanglements

    “cue Taylor Swift song”

  • Sleep more

I used to have the mentality “I can sleep when I’m dead,” but now I’m the complete opposite. I need sleep!

  • Own at least three outfits that could be described as 'smart'

I think I got this down pat!

  • Embrace how unhinged you are

    Be free, and be you!

  • Stop being a big baby

    It’s time to grow up.

  • Drink more water

    A gallon a day, baby!

  • Keep listening to new music

I love new music. In fact, each Friday I tell you my favorite new songs from the week.

  • Enjoy the fact you're turning 30!

Like I mentioned earlier, I openly talked on the air about how nervous I was to be turning 30 and how I didn’t feel accomplished like I thought I would be – but the best is yet to come! You learn lessons in your 20’s so you can be free in your 30s! Bring it on!
