Weddings would be pretty boring without the music and a new survey reveals how people really feel about the wedding playlist played at receptions. The poll asks 2-thousand wedding guests which songs make them hit the dance floor, revealing the ultimate wedding playlist. We all know these songs can be corny and campy, but 59% of respondents admit they love the cheesiness of a wedding playlist.

The survey finds:

  • 30% of those polled believe speeches are usually the cheesiest part of a wedding, not the music.
  • No matter what’s being played, one in 10 say they never dance at weddings.
  • Is it better to have a live band or a DJ at a reception? It’s a toss-up as respondents are split right down the middle on which they prefer.
  • One in five married couples says they had a fight with their spouse about what tunes should be played at their wedding.

So what songs are worthy of being on the ultimate wedding playlist? Topping the list is a hit that was first released 46 years ago: “Dancing Queen” by Abba. These are the top 10, based on the survey results. There are 40 songs in total and you can check them all out here.
