The Maney, Roy & LauRen Morning Show teamed up with the Charlotte Knights to host their first-ever single’s event. Our show is famous for busting cheaters with War of the Roses. We also do a Wednesday segment called ‘Date ’em or Dump ’em.” One of the comments that we hear more than anything is how bad dating is in Charlotte. So! We decided to do something about it. The idea for a single’s event has been brewing in our minds for years now. Since before the pandemic! So what we did is host a night where single people could come and mingle with the show as well with other single people and take the pressure off of a one-on-one situation. People could come with friends, Maney, Roy & LauRen were acting as wingmen and women.
We had miniature baseball bats that were split three ways. One-third had the letter ‘M’ on them, one-third had the letter ‘R’ on them, and one-third had the letter ‘L’ on them. The idea behind this was to create an icebreaker for people. People could talk to other people who had the same lettered bats as them.
The show ended up having a blast with all of our listeners. It was also Roy’s last event before moving to Cincinnati. We can’t wait to host another single’s event!
