LeBron & Bronny James Make NBA History Playing Together in Lakers Season Opener
It’s official, we have a father, son duo playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Last night, October 22, LeBron James and son, Bronny James (LeBron James Jr.) made NBA history by playing in their first regular season game during the Los Angeles Lakers opener.
Not only are they the first in the league playing together, but also playing on the same team and it’s certainly what everyone was talking about all summer long. LeBron James started his NBA career in 2003 as the Cleveland Cavaliers’ first overall pick that year. The next year during his second season in the league, he had his first child, Bronny James.
The veteran who is entering his 22nd season in the NBA is now entering with his son, Bronny, as his teammate. Lebron joined the Lakers franchise in 2018 and his son was drafted this past year. Bronny previously played one year at the University of Southern California.
LeBron & Bronny James Take the Court
The first time the duo hit the court together was during their preseason game, but this was their first time taking the court together for the official 2024-2025 NBA season and it was at the home opener. With only four minutes left in the game on Tuesday, the father, son duo left the bench together and substituted into the game together.
âYou see the intensity, right?â LeBron asked. âJust play carefree, though. Don’t worry about mistakes, just go out there and play hard.â
The duo played for about two and a half minutes together, but from the moment they took the court the crowd and social media went crazy! Who is ready for another NBA season? We’re intrigued to see how much more of the father, son duo we will get this season. Can you imagine if they win a championship together this season? WOW!
