South Carolina Whataburger Opens 1st Location This Month
Texas-based Whataburger has been in the news many times lately with their rapidly expanding brand in the Carolinas. And, now, we finally have solid details as the first South Carolina Whataburger opens a location this month.
When & Where Is The Grand Opening Of First South Carolina Whataburger
First, let’s discuss when and where. According to The State, South Carolina Whataburger opens the first location on July 15 at 3647 Boiling Springs Rd. in Spartanburg County. The official grand opening takes places at 11 a.m. This makes a whopping 16 states that the Texas chain is now expanded to.
Reports indicate there are nine other Whataburger locations under construction in South Carolina. And, a handful more are planned for 2025.
Every time we write about another location of the chain popping up in the Carolinas, people always argue that we have ‘the original’ in North Carolina. However, that is not the case.
First of all, the two restaurants are not affiliated with each other in any way. Furthermore, the Whataburger chain that began in Texas was started in 1950 in Corpus Christi, years before the What-A-Burger in the Carolinas.
You can have your favorites or chat about which is ‘better.’ But, rest assured they are not the same. I grew up going to the one based in Texas. And, I am thrilled that they are moving closer to us in the Carolinas.
And, if you’re lucky enough to find a 24/7 location, you can order the famous Breakfast Taquitos. Those are fluffy flour tortillas filled with scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage and cheese with picante sauce. It’s definitely the ticket after a big night out!
