iHop Adding Alcohol To The Menu
The restaurant chain IHOP is known for its yummy pancakes and steaming hot coffee, but they may soon be known for something totally different – booze.
That’s right, according to CNN, iHop just announced that franchisees will soon be able to add beer, wine, and sparkling drinks to the menu. While some restaurants have had alcohol in the past, now iHop is offering a specific set of drink options for their restaurants, including Bud Light, Blue Moon, and Corona beers, as well as Barefoot Bubbly Brut, Barefoot Bubbly Chardonnay, and Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon.
The alcoholic offerings are set to first launch at two locations in New Mexico this week, and at one restaurant in San Diego in September, with nine restaurants in New York, Rhode Island, Maryland, and Ohio, following by the end of the year.
Oh, and don’t expect your local iHop to add any fancy cocktail menus anytime soon. The chain isn’t adding hard alcohol in order to keep iHop family-friendly and not feel like a bar.
