Lexi’s Selfie With A Great Horned Owl From South America!
This past weekend, I went home to Raleigh for a friend’s birthday and they had wild animals visit! It was AWESOME! There was a ball python, an alligator, a red-footed tortoise, and even a vervet monkey! But my favorite friend to meet was a great horned owl from South America. He took a selfie with me!

All of the animals had been rescued from either dangerous conditions being someone’s pet or injuries that rendered them unable to care for themselves in the wild. The animals came from as far away as southern Africa and as close as right here in North Carolina.
It was by far one of the coolest things I’ve seen or done in a while!

If you could meet any animal up close, what would it be? I’d love to meet a kangaroo joey up close. If you had to become another animal, what would it be? I’d become a marine animal, maybe a sea turtle or a seal? If you could miniaturize any animal to keep as a pet, what would it be? I’d keep a mini panda bear to snuggle with.
