Back in the day, you probably thought you were going to marry your celebrity crush. I always thought I and Leondardo DiCaprio were meant to be. It’s the stuff of romance movie dreams–a celebrity falling in love with a “normal” person, such as Matthew McConaughey or Kate Upton –so why not us?

In reality, these mesmerizing moguls rarely entertain love interests outside of their circle of fame. However, it never hurts to dream! This got the Shane Co. team thinking: which celebrities are the most popular among Americans? Is there different celebrity crushes in different states?

Over 130 male and female celebrities were analyzed by Shane Co. in order to identify the most popular dream celebrity crushes in every state. They used lists like People’s sexiest men alive, Trend Spotter’s hottest female celebrities, and others in order to compile the base of celebrities. From there, they turned to Google Trends data from March 2021 through March 2022 in order to determine which male and female celebrities each state is searching for the most. These are the results they found for North Carolina. We also included some additional state results as well.
