SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND - AUGUST 28: A doorbell device with a built-in camera made by home security company Ring is seen on August 28, 2019 in Silver Spring, Maryland. These devices allow users to see video footage of who is at their front door when the bell is pressed or when motion activates the camera. According to reports, Ring has made video-sharing partnerships with more than 400 police forces across the United States, granting them access to camera footage with the homeowners’ permission in what the company calls the nation’s 'new neighborhood watch.' Ring doorbells capture awesome videos.  Yes, their bigger purpose is so you can check and see who’s at your front door from inside or away from your house.  I like the videos of kids getting home from school and using the doorbell to tell the parent who isn’t at home all about their day.  Or, the videos of delivery taking advantage of grabbing a snack on the porch the homeowner left for them.  They’re all always grateful and appreciative.  Below are some of my favorite moments caught on Ring doorbells.

  • A blood-curdling scream.

An elderly woman got the shock of her life as she was walking out of her house.  She ended up laughing through her horror like I probably would’ve done.

  • A son checking in on his Dad before school.

This kid’s Dad was out of town and about board his flight home.  His son just wanted to tell him to have a safe flight before he headed off to school.

  • He just wanted to watch his kid shows.

This one went viral a couple of years ago.  This kid was clearly board at a friends house across the street.  His Mom let him come home and watch “the kids channels”.  He was smart and called his Dad at work via the Ring doorbell to ask him how to turn the TV on and get to the channels.  Super adorable!

  • She wanted her dishes back.

We all have those casserole or Tupperware dishes that we use for dinner parties or tailgate parties.  One woman loved hers so much, she went back to the house and used their Ring doorbell to ask for them back.

  • Even a dog can use it.

This pupper was tired of being outside so he rang his owner’s Ring doorbell to let them know he wanted in.
