One thing I love about reading books, is being able to visualize in my head what the characters look like, and the scenes. Sometimes, those visualizations come to life when books get made into films.

Some film adaptations of books are questionable, some are amazing, and some are just flat out bad; but it is fun to read a book, and then see how it has been made into a film.

There are many popular books that are in the process of being made into movies or TV shows this year.

Here are some of the top one’s that I know about thanks to Variety.com! 

• Eragon

  Eragon by Christopher Paolini is part of a best selling series, that has been picked up by Disney+. They are working on turning the first of the book series into a TV Show.

• Blonde

  Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates is being turned into a movie that will come out on Netflix. We’ve actually gotten our first look at this Marilyn Monroe adaptation, starring Ana de Armas.

• Where The Crawdads Sing

  Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens is a wildly popular book that has just been adapted to film. Reese Witherspoon produced the film adaptation. The book is a crime drama set in North Carolina.

• The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

  The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a book cover you’ve probably seen all over Tik Tok. It is a wildly popular book following a secret story of the reclusive Hollywood icon Evelyn Huge. The book is being made into a movie that will come out on Netflix.

• The Vanishing Half

  The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett is a book that has actually been on my personal list for quite some time. It was one of the biggest books of 2020. There have been no announcements about cast yet, but we do know this adaptation will be coming to HBO.

• The Power

  The Power by Naomi Alderman is a book all about a world where women as physically stronger than men. The adaptation of this book will be directed by “The Handmaid’s Tale’s” director, Reed Moreno, so i’m very intrigued to see this one!

• It Ends With Us

  It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, is another book that took Tik Tok by storm! While it’s been announced the script is officially finished, there are no details yet on cast or who may be picking up this film adaptation. I actually just finished this book, so I’ll be excited to follow this news of an adaptation.
