Adam Sandler is one of my favorite actors/comedians of all time and is the star of one of my favorite movies of all time. The day I watched my very first Adam Sandler movie changed my comedic humor forever. I was 12 years old but my friend next door was 13. His parents allowed him to rent a movie titled, Billy Madison. At this point in my life, I sort of knew Adam Sandler had been on Saturday Night Live and had made appearances in other movies. At the age I was at though, what’s funnier than watching an adult go back to school? While I wouldn’t get the adult humor of that movie until a few years later, I had never laughed at a movie so hard up until that point.
My buddy and I just kept talking to each other in that infectious Adam Sandler goofy voice that only he can do. We watched that movie at least five or six times while he had it for those three days. I even remember convincing my parents to rent it. They weren’t fans. Little did I realize that just a few months after discovering the actor that would influence the humor I would gravitate towards as I got older, Adam Sandler would star in another movie that is my top 3 favorite movies of all time; Happy Gilmore.
