Halloween is officially over! You may or may not have found yourself with a bunch of left over Halloween candy this year. Instead of letting it go stale in your pantry, there are some great organizations you can donate your candy to!

Whether you have a bunch of candy you won't eat, or want to just get it out of your house so you won't eat it, you can donate your candy instead of throwing it away.

According to Charlotte Observer, here are some great ways to get rid of your extra Halloween candy in Charlotte.

Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools

You can donate your candy at a collection box, that will be located at the entrance facing Pressley Road. Donations will be accepted until Nov. 7.

Dental Wellness of Charlotte

Dental Wellness of Charlotte is hosting a Halloween candy buyback program through the 7th of November. You can get $1 per pound of candy donated. The candy will then be distributed to a local charity.

Hull and Coleman Orthodontics

This group is also hosting a Halloween candy buyback program. You can sell up to five pounds of candy at $2 per pound. Candy donations will then be donated to Bright Blessings.

Treats for Troops

This service will send sweets to military service members.

Operation Gratitude

This group sends sweets to deployed troops and first responders. You can send inquiries about candy donations to candy@operationgratitude.com.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Check with your local chapter, but most Ronald McDonald houses will collect candy to donate to sick children and their families.

Bring it to work

One thing I have learned about getting rid of food you don't want; just bring it to work. I'm sure people you work with will snack on any left over candy you have.

Hi, I'm Cameron! I was born and raised in North Carolina. I'm a super tall redhead who is always down for tacos, enchiladas, and margaritas. Okay, so Mexican food is my personal favorite, but I’m not saying no if you’re trying to eat out on the town anywhere. I I am on air for middays but also the Program Director for Kiss 95.1. I enjoy connecting with Kiss 95.1’s amazing listeners and being able to bring all of my favorite things like food, wine, and life online into digital content.
