Get ready for Thanksgiving with these movies!  I’ve added every single one of these to my list to start watching immediately.  There’s nothing like Thanksgiving in your own home and this year my wife and I get to actually stay in town and have our own Thanksgiving.  I’m going to make sure I’m up promptly at 9:00 AM.  Whether my wife is up or not, I’ll brew some coffee and turn on Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Before 11:00 AM, we’ll bake cinnamon rolls with orange icing and finish up the parade and watch most of The National Dog Show with Zoe.

When that ends, it’s Bloody Marys, football, and prepping to cook Thanksgiving dinner.  We’ve only gotten to do this one other time since we’ve been married, but we were renting.  To actually have Thanksgiving to ourselves in our own house is a great feeling.  To get into the spirit, even more, we’re expanding our Thanksgiving viewing experience.  Get ready for Thanksgiving with these movies!

I always think about A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving this time of year.  It’s on this list.  I’ve never actually considered Thanksgiving a movie holiday like I consider Christmas and Halloween until I did some research.  I came across an article on Mental Floss and it immediately jogged my memory.  In Addams Family Values, there’s a scene at a summer camp where Wednesday gives a “passionate” speech during the reenactment of the first Thanksgiving.

Miracle on 34th Street is one of few movies that can serve as both a Christmas and Thanksgiving movie.  It opens during Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  If you’re into the latest trend of “HANKS-giving” then the perfect Tom Hanks Thanksgiving movie exists for you.  You’ve Got Mail actually takes place during the holiday.  Home For The Holidays is another great Thanksgiving movie because it’s about a dysfunctional family.  I feel like a lot of us can relate to that around the holidays.  Get ready for Thanksgiving with these movies!  Click here for the full list!
