It’s another weekend in Charlotte!
The weather channel says we may be seeing rain and snow this weekend, but so far, it’s been beautiful so we’ll just proceed like normal until otherwise… haha.
If you’re in Charlotte this weekend, and looking for ways to celebrate the big game, or maybe an early Valentine’s Day, here are some of my top picks of things going on in and around Charlotte.
Live Music at Atherton
Enjoy a live musical performance from Celestial Company Duo as a part of the Rail Trial Lights feature. The music will start at 6pm on Friday, and it is free to attend at Atherton Mill.
BOTCHED Art Exhibit
Celebrate wonderful local artists by viewing 60 art pieces this Friday. These art pieces are displaying each artist’s unique expression of the word ‘botched’. Tickets are $8, and the instillation opens at 6pm at CPCC-Harris Campus.
90s Movie Series
Love the 90s? Well Camp North End is doing a special 90’s movie series this month! Bring a chair of blanket to sit on and enjoy “Pretty Woman.” This event is free to attend – they will have concessions for purchase. The showing is at 7:30pm.
Rail Trail Lights Interactive Art Festival
Walk down the Rail trail to view six new interactive light installations. There is plenty of food and stuff to do in South End also on the Rail Trail. This event is free to attend.
Unicorn World
This Saturday, things are turning magical at the Park Expo and Conference Center. Take the family to be immersed in the magical world of unicorns. There will be animatronic unicorns, rides, games and themed arts and crafts. Tickets are $30.
Free Valentine’s Day Portraits
Get a professional picture taken of yourself, you and your boo, or you and your girlfriends this Saturday at the Confetti Hearts Mural in South End. Local musicians will provide tunes plus the first 100 visitors will get a flower from Bookout Blooms. This event is free to attend and runs from 11 to 2pm.

Uncorked: Charlotte Wine Fest
Stop by Discovery Place Science this Saturday for a fun after hours experience. You’ll be able to sip from 100 wines and champagnes from around the world, plus enjoy food trucks. Tickets for this event range from $65-$80, and it starts at 6pm of Saturday.
Charlotte Hornets vs Denver Nuggets
Cheer on the Charlotte Hornets this Saturday at Spectrum Center as they take on the Denver Nuggets. Tickets range from $22-$495, and tip off is at 7pm.

Valentine’s Candle Class
This sounds so fun! You can make your own candle, using recycled vessels. They will also have hookah, plus drink and brunch items. Tickets are $80 from this Sunday from 12-2pm at Tax & Tea Lounge.
Big Game Bash
Watch the big game this weekend in South End at RSVP South End. They will have a ping pong tournament, live DJ, and drink specials leading up to the “Big Game” Tickets are $10, and the party starts at 2pm on Sunday.
